The NZ Mixed Pairs and Masters Fours will be kicking off the Super Finals Weekend on Friday at 7pm, with three rounds to be played in the evening and four rounds from Saturday morning. Mat Blacks Captain, Paul Wright, and former NZ representative, Carol Wright, will return to the Mixed Pairs for a third consecutive time. They have picked up a silver and a bronze in their previous two attempts, so will no doubt be looking to make this one count.
Defending Masters Fours Champions, Graham Low, Brian Hotton and Jan Low are back again, this time with Clifford Shirreffs in place of Warwick Gray. They are the top seeds of their group and are every chance of a repeat performance.
The Mixed Fours, Henselite Singles and NZ 1-5 Pairs will commence after lunch on Saturday. Defending Mixed Fours champions Tim Veale, Bruce Meyer, Sarah Meyer and Ann-Marie Redmond are back in the hunt, as are the 2019 champions, Paul Smith, Mike Phipps, Fiona Keegan and Lorraine Phipps.
Competition will be fierce in the Henselite Singles section, with some of the biggest names in the game going head-to-head. These include Grant l'Ami, Ashley Diamond, Shaun Blackbourn, Nathan Trowell and Graham Low. It is a star-studded field, and it will be exciting to see who claims the top spot.
Standing out in the NZ 1-5 Year Pairs field are Nic Andrew and Joc O'Connor; two members of the winning South Island Championship Fours team from earlier this year. They were popular winners then and will be popular winners again if they manage to claim the gold.
To conclude the Super Finals Weekend will be the NZ 1-5 Year Singles on Sunday where a group of youngsters will take to the mats, including Taira Stirling, Jordan Tolhopf, Presley Williams and Kobe Bearman.
