At a recent meeting of representatives of both the Australian Indoor Bias Bowls Council and the New Zealand Indoor Bowls Executive, it was agreed to postpone the Trans-Tasman International, scheduled to be held at Ballarat, Victoria in May 2022, until later in the year.
Although both parties expressed disappointment in the outcome of their discussions, all representatives were unanimous in the decision to postpone in view of the current levels of the outbreak of the Omicron variant of the COVID virus in Australia together with the absence of any possibility of quarantine-free travel to Australia in the near future.
A further meeting of both parties has been scheduled late March to finalise details and confirm a potential date in early September, for the event to proceed. The New Zealand players who have been nominated for the team will be contacted later in the year to confirm their availability once a new date has been confirmed.
