After meeting with AIBBC, the decision has been made to go ahead with the 2022 International match between New Zealand and Australia.
Some important notes:
• Nominations for the NZ team were reopened and the closing date for any additional nominations is on April 4th.
• The selectors will name the NZ team on 13th April. Players selected in the NZ team will be ineligible for selection in the North and South Island teams.
• The NZ team will assemble on Saturday 27th August (venue to be confirmed) and travel to Melbourne on Sunday 28th August. The team will be based in Ballarat for practice over the next three days before the International, to be played at the Doug Dean Reserve, Ballarat, commencing Thursday 1st September and concluding on Saturday 3rd September. The team will return home on Sunday 4th September.
• The postponed 2021 Welch Trophy event originally scheduled for the above dates, will now be moved to the weekend of 16th - 18th September.
