Otago's Jonty Horwell has taken out the New Zealand Indoor Bowls Junior Singles in North Wellington Saturday afternoon.
He beat last year's winner, Aidan Zittersteijn of North Taranaki, 10-9 in a close final.
Seventeen-year-old Horwell also won the junior singles in 2014. He's from the Kaikorai Club in Dunedin.
On his way to the final Horwell put out Daniel Curtis of Manawatu 12-6 in one semi- final and Zittersteijn eliminated Leighton Shanks of Poverty Bay 13-8 in the other.
The final of the Plate was an all-Auckland affair, with Mereani Solomona of Roskill and Districts beating Jakeb White of Counties 14-6.
Solomona beat Kaleb Johnston of Nelson 13-8, in one semi-final and White beat Jamie Pretty of Taranaki 14-6 in the other.
