Anthony Ouellet from Tauranga Intermediate has taken out the indoor bowls singles title at the 2014 AIMS Games in Tauranga. He beat Sam Anderson from Levin Intermediate in the final. It’s Anthony’s second year at the games at which he improved on his fourth placing last year. Anthony is a regular club bowler in Tauranga, plays in the Tauranga junior representative team and has a very promising future. Sam is another up and coming player who recently represented his district Horowhenua at the NZ Indoor Bowls Junior Singles in Wellington. In a play off for third, Louise Bremner from Otumoetai Intermediate defeated Rebecca Howell from Pongakawa School. This year 231 Year 7 and 8 players took to the mats in the qualifying rounds for the singles, with 91 qualifying for post-section play.
