Daniel French of Otago is the winner of the 2014 Henselite Champion of Champion Singles, played at Hamilton on Saturday.
He beat Chris McAdam of Upper Valley 13-7 in the final.
French got out to a good start and kept ahead of McAdam all the way.
He was a member of the winning men’s four in the recent inter-Island fixture.
The plate was won by Simon Thomas of Canterbury who beat Kevin Torrey of North Harbour 11-9 in a tight final.
Thirty-three players started out in the Henselite and 12 qualified for post-section play.
