Low Family Triumphant in Triples

A star-studded line up hit the semi-finals of the National Open Triples this afternoon, creating what felt like a clash of the titans.

The Low family, who had won in 2011, overcame defending champions Grant l’Ami, Mike Phipps and Lorraine Phipps.  In the other semi-final, 2018 triples champions of Simon Thomas, Michael Lawson and Daniel French defeated 2017 singles champion Wayne Baker and his team of Keith Setter and Annelies Baker.  Setter was also a member of the 1998 and 2016 winning triples teams.

It is the second final for Gary and Graham in two days, and they have multiple other placings on record, so no doubt they were extra motivated to make it count.  This was reflected in the game, and having Jan leading like she was, really set the tone.

Congratulations to Gary on his third national title, and Graham and Jan for their second.  It is always a pleasure to watch a family team who have played together for a long time come away with a win.
