Gisborne Boys High School wins NZ SS Pairs
Nathan Trowell and Akuhata Keelan, from the Gisborne Boys High School won the Gold Medals in the pairs at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Indoor Bowls Championships held at the North Wellington Indoor Bowls Hall, Onepoto, Titahi Bay, North Wellington on Monday.
Trowell (15) also won the inaugural 1-5 year development pairs recently.
In the final they defeated the North Island Secondary School Pairs Gold Medalists Damon Forster and Bailey Irwin from Whakatane High School who received the Silver Medals 18-3.
In the semifinals Trowell beat Dylan Greyvenstein and Vincent Beard, Whakatane High School 16-2 while Forster beat Blair Gowan and AJ Bond from Feilding High School 16-6.
In the play off to decide the Bronze Medal winners Dylan Greyvenstein and Vincent Beard beat the Feilding High School Pair 14-4. The Whakatane High School pair won the silver medals in this event last year.
The plate event was won by Matthew Adlam and Michael Burke, Mount Maunganui College.
The player of the tournament was Dylan Greyvenstein from the Whakatane High School.
