CONGRATULATIONS to Shaun Blackbourn (WK) on claiming his first national title, and what a title to win. He has been close before, once in the 2013 National Triples and most recently in the 2019 National Fours, but it was the 2021 National Singles where Shaun made his mark.
It was a fantastic final, up against class act Sheree Holmes. Sheree had an impressive run through post section, collecting wins against the likes of Kevin Boothby, Ashley Diamond, Marcus Trlin and Simon Thomas.
One point is all that separated them going into the final end, and Sheree held shot to force an extra end before Shaun nailed his last bowl.
Sheree does come away with the Truth Cup for woman going the furthest, while Matthew Tosh claimed the Cliff Thompson trophy for best performing junior, as did Ali Wilson for the over 65.
