Two North Taranaki teams battled it out for the National Masters Triples title. Andrew Brunton, 2016 Masters Singles and Fours champion, skipped his brother David and wife Yvonne against Neville Seconi, Christine Midgley and Lorraine Seconi.
A brilliant final ensued, with the Brunton team ahead by one point approaching the last end. With the jack moved to the back of the mat, it made for quite an exciting last end. David Brunton had no fear, delivering a perfectly weighted bowl to roll in one of his orange shots. It sat next to the jack for the remainder of the game, and an emotional Andrew Brunton shook hands.
Congratulations to Andrew for his third masters title, and to David and Yvonne for their first. “What a great feeling” comments Yvonne.
