As Timaru Association was unable to hold the 2020 Island Championships this year, due to the COVID-19 restrictions that were in place, they have been awarded the hosting of the 2023 Island Championships.
Their President has accepted.
In light of the Island Championships not being held, NZ Indoor Bowls had an offer from Upper Hutt Valley to run these in conjunction with their events over Labour Weekend. NZ Indoor Bowls, along with the Timaru Association, are happy for this to take place and wish Upper Hutt Valley a very successful long weekend of bowls.
